We have assisted a major client with getting Aspect up and running. An essential part of getting it working as they need it to is to have Active Directory Attributes working to force appropriate filtering on Aspect sites.

They have indicated that all the inbuilt Active Directory attributes, including the inbuilt custom ones are already in use an cannot be used as required by Aspect.

They have asked us to confirm if Aspect supports the creation of additional Active Directory attributes by extending the AD Schema, e.g. creating attributes called "ApectAttribute1", "AspectAttribute2" etc? Has this been tried and tested before.

Good to get some feedback before going ahead and trying this as customising the AD schema in a big organisation is a big step not without some risk of upsetting things.

Darrell,

When instantiating an Active Directory user, Aspect gathers all the Active Directory properties it can find.  Whether this includes properties added through a custom schema I do not know, however given that we do try to get every (set) Active Directory property against a user, I would hope it would extend to properties defined in a custom schema.

If you need this specifically tested can I suggest creating a case with support, and including information about how the custom schema is being created.
